The Jifunze Story
Jifunze, meaning "learn", is not just a brand identity. It is a calling.
Born from a decade-long journey of learning, patience, and love, Jifunze Consulting honours the legacy of the late Professor Joel Chigada, a revered academic and pioneer in IT and cybersecurity education at the University of the Western Cape and UNISA.
Founded in 2025 by his daughter, Ruvimbo Faith Chigada, Jifunze continues a tradition of empathy, excellence, and service. What began as peer support during varsity years evolved into tutoring, consulting, and facilitation—rooted in warmth, mastery, and a commitment to building capability, not dependency.
